It has been bubbling for about 40 hours now, and the foam keeps building up. I used part of the water to water my entire garden. And now after filming this video I filled the barrel back up again with fresh water because the weather forecast predicts some warm days. And there is still a lot of microbial activity inside the barrel. And my plants seem to be loving it, especially the plants in my pots and hanging baskets are doing far better. I also gave it to my Buxus shrub, which was suffering severely from an insect attack. But now new leafs are starting to grow on branches of which I thought that they were dead, or at least dying. I was already giving up hope on it, and I even have considered to replace it all together. I have been struggling for years with the insects in this shrub. And so far I only had very little succes. Just enough to keep it alive. As a last resort I will continue to give it worm tea. So, lets see what happens. It would be nice if I could save the shrub. I have another smaller Buxus, which was an of cut from my large Buxus, and that one doesn't have the insect attacks, but it does receive a lot more bio mass and soft leafs during the fall and winter. So I guess that the smaller Buxus receives enough nutrients so that it can produce enough sugars to stay safe from insect attacks. And that is the main reason why I had not completely given up yet on my larger Buxus shrub. Because I could see that my smaller shrub was not under attack by the insects. It had been in the past, but that was before I started applying bio mass. Before that I used to rake everything up, and throw it in the bin. Now I do not rake it up, and I added even more woody material. So now I am duplicating that with my large shrub, and I add the compost worm tea.
