Dr Paul Gardner is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Otago, and has worked with Genomics Aotearoa on Identifying genetic drivers of Streptococcus pyogenes, and Medical Metagenomics. He has devoted over two decades to research in bioinformatics, particularly in the application and development of machine learning techniques. His work has advanced our understanding of non-coding RNAs, genomic variation, and molecular evolutionary biology, among other areas.
