Blue Sky Bio is a Chester-based company dedicated to providing ‘full-circle’ product solutions to meet the growing food and waste demands caused by a rising human population. Blue Sky Bio has recently completed a Knowledge Transfer Secondment (KTS) project with the University and has now moved on to a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). Both projects are around the capability of producing big-scale renewable energy by breaking down organic matter and generating biogas. The KTS project was made possible through funds made available by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). These funds are available to businesses and academics looking to translate research into the non-academic world. The KTP project is sponsored by the EPSRC and the Welsh Government.
