I’ve worked in fashion for more than two decades, and in that time I’ve attended the Met gala as a guest, an employee, and even a few times as a party crasher. (🤫) This event is my world's Super Bowl. It’s a convergence of high fashion and pop culture, and a red carpet that never ceases to amuse and amaze. But one question I get asked all the time is: What the F is the #metgala anyway? In this video, I answer all those questions: When did it start? Who goes? Who pays? What is the Costume Institute? And why is this all such a big deal?
