Departing from the historic town of Ogulin—nestled within the picturesque Ogulin-Plaški valley—this immersive driver’s-view journey travels over 87 km through central Croatian landscape to reach the port city of Rijeka. The single-track, electrified railway is part of the Zagreb–Rijeka M202 corridor, a vital section of the Pan-European Corridor Vb that connects inland Croatia with the Adriatic coast From Ogulin, the track first travels along the steep-sided Ogulinsko polje and then over the challenging Dobra Valley, threading through tight curves and striking natural formations. After Ogulin, the train passes through stations such as Moravice, historically significant as an abrupt transition station: until 2012, electric traction switched there due to a difference in electrification systems (25 kV in inland to 3 kV near the coast). Continuing through Delnice and Fužine, the route climbs and then gracefully descends the mountainous terrain with sweeping loops and viaducts that showcase the engineering response to the rugged topography.
