Lutes of the Silk Road, a concert Following on from their lecture, ‘Lutes of the Silk Road’ given at the Lute Society on 10th May 2025, the group play solos and ensembles illustrating the many and varied traditions musical traditions of the lands along this ancient trade route from East to West: Cheng yu (Chinese pipa), Shohret Nur, (Uyghur dutar and rawap), Sabine Masters, (Kazakh dombra), Ahmet Ozan Baysal (Turkish saz, or baglama), Nick Leventis (Middle Eastern oud), Johan Lofving (European theorbo) and Antonio Romero (percussion).
