Double Down on Your TIG Welding Skills! Learn two TIG root pass techniques that improve weld quality and control. This method involves holding the filler wire at the top and bottom of the bevel while feeding it into the weld pool as the torch moves along the joint. Mastering these techniques enhances consistency, penetration, and overall weld integrity. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, these TIG welding tips will take your root passes to the next level! To perform these techniques, you will need to establish the proper arc length between the tungsten electrode and the workpiece. The filler wire should be held at a 10-degree angle to the joint and fed into the weld pool as the torch moves along the joint. It is important to maintain a consistent travel speed and maintain proper torch angle and distance throughout the weld. With practice and attention to detail, this technique can produce high-quality welds with excellent control and precision.
