I this video, we are going to do a Insulation Test (IR) or Megger Test on Single Phase Distribution Transformer to check the Insulation Resistance. Single Phase Transformer is one of the most common device in power distribution system especially 3 Phase 4 Wire System. Proper maintenance and service of these transformer are paramount to ensure the longevity and to prevent unwanted interruption or even blackout due to malfunction. One of the most important routine check is Insulation Resistance or Megger Test. It measure the Insulation condition of the bushings, winding coating, and overall oil integrity. A certain minimum level of resistance should be meet to ensure the proper operation and condition of the device.
