For years, I served as an elder inside the Jehovah’s Witness organization. I believed I was defending truth, protecting the congregation, and applying spiritual guidance with integrity. But there was a book — a confidential manual only elders are allowed to read. Inside that book, I discovered procedures, classifications, and directives that most members never see. What I found slowly changed me. It forced me to confront difficult questions about transparency, authority, discipline, and conscience. In this video, I share seven aspects of that internal manual that deeply impacted my decision to leave. This is not a story of anger or rebellion. It is a story of awakening — of choosing integrity over silence. If you are questioning, healing, or quietly struggling with doubts, you are not alone. Life After Belief exists to give voice to those who lived inside high-control religious environments and are now rebuilding their lives. If you would like to share your own story — whether you are still inside, have already left, or are somewhere in between — you can send it to: 📩 machado.lassis@gmail.com Your experience matters. Your voice matters. Many people are silently carrying emotions they were never allowed to express. Sometimes telling your story is the first step toward healing — and sometimes it becomes the light that helps someone else. ⚖️ Disclaimer This video presents a personal narrative based on individual experience and perception.
