A brand new engine didn’t even last 100 miles in this BMW. After replacing the original high-mileage engine to make the car more reliable for track use, Jay’s BMW M135i was running a brand new engine — until it failed catastrophically and seized completely. In this video, we find out if the car is even worth saving. We pull the failed engine out, strip it down, and uncover damage far worse than expected. With BMW wanting thousands just for parts, repairing the engine simply wasn’t an option. So instead, we took a huge risk — replacing it with an M2 engine in the hope of finally fixing the N55’s known track weaknesses. This video shows the entire journey: • Removing and inspecting the failed engine • Discovering why it was beyond repair • Searching for a replacement engine • Walking away from a bad M2 engine • Finding a better one and bringing it back to the workshop • Fitting it into the car • And finally… finding out if it runs This isn’t a theory video or a quick fix. It’s a real workshop rescue with real money, real pressure, and no guarantee it would work until the very end. If you enjoy honest builds, engine swaps, and proper problem-solving in the workshop, you’re in the right place. 🛠️ JAY’S M135i TRACK SETUP: • AST 3-way coilovers • Protrack One wheels • Nankang CRS semi-slick tyres • AP Racing brakes • Half cage 🔔 SUBSCRIBE New builds, track cars, and real-world projects — subscribe to follow the journey. #bmw #bmwm #bmwm135i #enginefailure #engineswap #carbuild
