Period. I could write a book about this miracle of a game, developed by Daedalic, an independent developing studio from my hometown Hamburg. The game's story is incredibly mature in its core theme, but tells it in a very heart-warming, uplifting way. It's about Sadwick, a young clown that sets out to prevent his fantasy world from falling apart, but ends up destroying it himself in the process, as he finds out a shocking reality that changes everything he believed in. The Whispered World not only features gorgeous handdrawn graphics, but also a wonderful soundtrack, composed by Hamburg's Periscope studios. I don't know the name of the composers, but they not only perfectly captured the beatiful world, but also the melancholy and sadness of its main character (who still maintains a cynical, yet funny perspective on things) and the foreboding cataclysm. This is one of two pieces I will play from the soundtrack. The second piece will follow in the next days. I played Scamper205's excellent arrangement.
