Welcome back fellow aircraft builders and aviation enthusiasts! My old 8-gallon Harbor Freight air compressor couldn't take the abuse of drilling hundreds of holes in rapid succession. It was a great little machine for the last 14 years, but I was asking too much of it for this project. While rapidly match-drilling the horizontal stabilizer skin to the skeleton, the compressor was kicking on about every 30-60 seconds, and it eventually caused an electrical problem (probably the start capacitor). I don't have time to fix it right now, since I need my compressor for things other than the plane project. This video details how and why I selected this new compressor from Home Depot: Husky C302H 30-gallon 155PSI Portable Air Compressor: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-30-G... After performing the 20-minute break-in procedure, I changed the oil to a premium synthetic blend. The original factory oil was DIRTY after the break-in. I also re-plumbed the condensate drain at the bottom, as the factory one is nearly inaccessible. Should run like a champ for the duration of the project (and hopefully much longer). I have more tips & tricks videos on the way, including construction of the horizontal stabilizer, elevator and flaperons! Many hours of video to cut together. Stay tuned!
