Clear Cache Google Chrome - https://www.businessinsider.com/guide... Clear Cache Safari - https://www.businessinsider.com/guide... Clear Cache Firefox - https://www.businessinsider.com/guide... What is a cache? If you've spent any time on the phone with IT troubleshooting an issue its likely at some point you've been asked to Clear your cache as a fix. A cache is a temporary storage location for data that allows apps, websites and web browsers to store data locally in the application cache or device cache rather than be redownloaded each time you visit a web page for example, this leads to faster load times and increased performance as the data is accessible faster. Lets look at a web browser cache as a example. Say you open your google chrome browser and open a web page it will download things like images, search history and any other website files or data it deems necessary into the cache ready to be accessed again next time at a quicker speed than if they were to be downloaded again. You can see this in action if you open a web page in your browser now that you haven't been to for a while, preferably one with a lot of images, eBay is a good example. When you open eBay or you chosen web page note the slight delay in listings and photos loading. Now press the back button in your browser and then press the button to go forward again to that same webpage. Notice the photos and listing appear almost instantly this time? that is because they are being accessed from your browsers cache rather than downloaded again. So the cache can save us time by decreasing load times and therefor increasing performance. One big drawback of a cache is that if data in a cache becomes corrupted, apps and web pages may not display correctly or may crash completely. This is why you're likely to be asked to clear the cache of a application or browser if things aren't disapplying as expected. I have left a few links with guides to clear the ache for each common web browser in the description in case that's an issue you're facing now!
