BNSF and a few Union Pacific Trains on the Needles Subdivision in the Mojave Desert between Daggett and Ash Hill, CA.On a beautiful May Saturday, a friend and I ventured out to the BNSF Needles Subdivision. We were not disappointed by the Train traffic, the longest we had to wait was only 45 minutes. We started off in Daggett were we caught 3 BNSFs and 2 Union Pacific Trains one of them being the MWCNP with UP6406 in the consist. After Daggett, we headed east to Ludlow were we got 6 Trains in about an hour. We then headed to Ash Hill were we saw 5 trains, 2 of them at the Ash Hill and 3 from off of Route 66, next to Ash Hill overlooking Klondike. We chased a 2x3x1, 199 car westbound intermodal to Ludlow, where we ended up seeing 2 other eastbounds. After Ludlow, we headed back west to Newberry Springs where we saw 3 Trains before calling it a day. We saw 26 Trains, with 21 being on video, and the other 5 seen from on the road. The Needles Sub is also the busiest Rail Corridor in the United States with over 90 Trains each day. Thanks for Watching! Copyright (©) Surfliner 6905 All rights reserved
