This is a behind-the-scenes look at the preparation for the Mario Martinez (Pascua Yaqui) painting, "Brooklyn" (2004) which will be included in the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian exhibition, "Vantage Point: The Contemporary Native Art Collection." Only at the Smithsonian would we put together staff from the Air and Space Museum, the Museum Conservation Institute and several departments from the National Museum of the American Indian to get one large painting ready for exhibit. "Vantage Point" will be on view from September 25, 2010 to August 7, 2011 at the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.
