Super Mario 64 launched in 1996 as a launch title for the new Nintendo 64. This is the first Mario 3D platformer and one of the first 3D platformers in general (there were others before Mario 64, but they didn't reach quite the same level of succes). Because of this it had a huge impact on the industry and is still considered a must play classic nearly 30 years later. In my childhood I came in contact with this game numerous times, though I never played a whole lot of it. In fact, the only 3D Mario game I can convincingly say I really played is Super Mario Galaxy 2. That changes now as I aim to 100% Super Mario 64 on original hardware. Ocasionally I'll give you my thoughts in the shape of some text, as watching me fail a level over and over again without any context is a bit boring.
