ZVRS is proud to announce a $2,500 matching contribution towards the #WhoWillAnswer campaign. The campaign's goal is to establish a nationwide 24/7 domestic violence/sexual assault hotline for deaf & hard of hearing people. This effort is being led by the prominent Seattle-based organization, Abused Deaf Women's Advocacy Services (ADWAS) with support by CSD and a total of 14 domestic violence/sexual assault support organizations serving the needs of deaf & hard of hearing people across the country. We are raising funds for a 24/7, ASL accessible National Deaf Hotline Center at Abused Deaf Women’s Advocacy Services. Deaf people are far more likely to experience abuse but have less access to services. This is a community issue. Because of ZVRS and others’ donations, we are one step closer to our goal of providing 24/7 access. We are creating a matching donation campaign up to $2,500. This means that when you donate $1, we’ll match that and turn it to $2! When you donate $10, we’ll match that and it turns to $20! $100? That becomes $200! #WhoWillAnswer includes a national coalition of fourteen domestic violence/sexual assault organizations that serve Deaf people. We are a family that supports survivors and those affected by violence. We truly appreciate ZVRS’ support and helping make this possible.
