This is Paul's favorite cutter at the moment. He's a straight cut guy, but this cutter has two sides, allowing for straight or v-cut. Both have guards, which is a helpful feature. CP is a V-cut guy, having converted from straight cuts after realizing that a proper v-cut offers a wonderful smoke. However, quality is extremely important with v-cutters, as dull blades easily mash cigar heads. Fortunately, the Quasar does v-cuts well, too. [01:40] Pros & Cons For $125 USD, you get a sleek-looking cutter and a perfect cut every time. There is one potential downside: the cutter fills very quickly, holding no more than 10-15 caps. Hence, it's more of a desktop solution for personal, home use, rather than at a shop. Pros: • Fantastic, solid construction • Non-slip rubber foot • Perfect straight cut Cons: • Small capacity for cigar ends • Somewhat difficult to remove cigar ends • V-cut is acceptable but not perfect • More expensive than other desktop cutters like the Scorpion (see above for link to Scorpion review video) Overall, this is an excellent desktop cutter, especially for straight cuts. When pressing down to cut the cigar, the action feels very solid and satisfying. If you use other Colibri cigar products, this cutter will accompany them well. Paul uses the SV-Cut and the Rally lighter, which share the faceted diamond motif with the Quasar.
