Building A Viking Town - Grimgard Part One

Grimfrost is building the Viking Town of Grimgard® in Sweden! The goal with Grimgard is to create a site of historical escapism and experimental archaeology. This video shows the first phase of the construction of the large longhouse, where a road is built to the construction site, the ground is examined and trees taken down for the massive pillars of the frame. The project will be ongoing for years, and will begin with the longhouse and a handful of smaller buildings. The conceptual designs and construction drawings are made by archaeologists who are specialized in Viking Age buildings, as well as professional construction engineers to ensure that safety and other regulations are followed.
