Diseñado en 1971 por el legendario arquitecto Pete Dye, este campo revolucionó la forma en que el golf se integra con el paisaje natural, creando una experiencia única entre el juego, el mar Caribe y la belleza del entorno en La Romana, República Dominicana. Después de más de cinco décadas, se llevó a cabo la restauración más importante desde su inauguración. El proyecto, liderado por Jerry Pate Design y respaldado por Central Romana Corporation, incluyó una inversión de 15 millones de dólares para preservar fielmente la visión original de Pete Dye. Las obras incluyeron la renovación de greens, bunkers, tees y fairways, así como la modernización de sistemas de drenaje e irrigación. At Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, we celebrate the official reopening of Teeth of the Dog, widely recognized as one of the best golf courses in the world and a defining icon of Caribbean golf. Originally designed in 1971 by legendary golf course architect Pete Dye, the course transformed the relationship between golf, landscape, and the Caribbean Sea, creating a world-class experience in La Romana, Dominican Republic. After more than five decades, the course underwent its most significant restoration since opening. The project, led by renowned golf architecture firm Jerry Pate Design and supported by Central Romana Corporation, represented a $15 million investment dedicated to preserving Pete Dye’s original vision. The restoration included the rebuilding of greens, bunkers, tees, and fairways, as well as modern drainage and irrigation systems. The iconic oceanfront holes known as the “Heaven 7” were also carefully preserved, ensuring the resilience of one of the most photographed and celebrated golf courses in the world.
