Noida Techie Death: Residents blame ‘gross negligence’ by authorities, say complaints 'ignored'

A 27-year-old techie, Yuvraj Mehta, died on Friday night after his car plunged into a deep, water-filled pit in Noida’s Sector 150. Before drowning, Yuvraj made a desperate call to his father, Raj Kumar Mehta, seeking help. When his father reached the spot, he alerted the police and an ambulance, who in turn called the SDRF. Yuvraj had managed to climb onto the roof of his submerged car and was flashing his phone’s torch for help. However, despite being present at the site, no one stepped into the ditch to rescue him. It was only when a 10-minute delivery executive jumped into the water to search for Yuvraj that an attempt was made—but by then, he had already suffocated to death.
