In the context of negotiations, Dr. Meerts touched upon the Russian-Ukrainian war, the crisis in the Middle East, the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and other international problems. According to Prof. Meerts, in diplomatic negotiations, the context determines the process. As he pointed out, to be effective, diplomatic negotiations should also be protected by international institutions.
