Aetosaurs were a lineage of heavily armoured, herbivorous Pseudosuchians from the Triassic Period. Possessing wide bodies, erect hindlimbs and a pillar erect stance, these animals inhabited a somewhat pig-like ecological niche. Ranging from sheep to buffalo-sized, Aetosaurs were widespread and successful herbivores up until the End Triassic extinction event.
