This is a 4 months durability update video for The Last Coat 2.0 (TLC2), and Turtle Wax ICE Seal N Shine (improved formula). Overall their hydrophobic performance has diminished over the months, however there's still ample evidence of performance remaining in both sections as shown in the results. Both of these are capable of months of unmaintained performance when used as your base layer protectant, but the value provided by Seal N Shine at around $10 for 16oz makes it a very attractive choice, especially with the updated formula. The Last Coat 2.0: https://amzn.to/32l50qG Turtle Wax ICE Seal N Shine (Improved Formula): https://amzn.to/3eyjy8T Only one coat of TLC2 was applied to the left half of the rear quarter panel from the rear of the car to the right edge of the gas cap. One coat of Seal N Shine was applied to the right half of the quarter panel and up the C pillar. Prior to applying these 4 months ago, the paint was prepped using Jescar Correcting Compound, followed up with Sonax Perfect Finish and Klean Strip Prep-All. This car is a daily driver, ungaraged, enduring the central Florida environment. No maintenance toppers have been used on these sections, the only soap used to wash the paint has been CarPro Reset. Jescar Correcting Compound: https://amzn.to/2CFBrFs Sonax Perfect Finish: https://amzn.to/2WpwAzp Klean Strip Prep-All: https://amzn.to/2CFOLK0 CarPro Reset: https://amzn.to/38XVH1m CarPro DHydrate Drying Towel: https://amzn.to/34ijh8i The towel used to dry the paint was the CarPro DHydrate, this is a twisted loop microfiber drying towel. The reason I rinse after drying the paint off is purely for testing purposes. As protectants lose their hydrophobic behavior, many times their surface tension left behind that provides that water repellency can be further reduced during the wash process. The wiping with the drying towel helps resolves some of this, as evidence through a revival of some of that surface tension provided by the protectants. Many times users count their protectants out a bit early, when really they've only been temporarily hindered until wiped dry. Saying that, I recommend reapplying protectants often, or using maintenance toppers to help prolong the durability of the base layer protectants. In the case of Seal N Shine, the latest Turtle Wax Ice Spray Wax would be the ideal topper to maintain it, this can be used after every wash. With TLC2, you can reapply this on a very regular basis itself after your maintenance washes until your next decontamination and polishing stages. Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored video, I received the TLC2 from one of the previous GloveBoxDetail Deluxe boxes, and Seal N Shine was purchased by myself for individual testing.
