Today I'm going to show you how to make bath potions - they're very easy and LOADS of fun for all ages! You'll need a container and something colorful and fizzy to put in it, like bath bomb powder, chunks, or embeds. EMBEDS RECIPE: You don't have to follow this recipe exactly. I found that the embeds molded best with a wet mixture 1/4 cup baking soda, 1/8 cup citric acid, 1 tablespoon color powder + 2 milliliters liquid color, 2 milliliters fragrance oil, 3 milliliters polysorbate 80, 3 milliliters carrier oil (grapeseed oil), 2 milliliters water. The array of wet ingredients makes the final consistency thick - which keeps the mixture wet/workable for longer. DIRECTIONS: Sieve dry ingredients together. Mix wet ingredients separately. Add wet ingredients while whisking. Thoroughly mix, knead, and rub mixture with your hands to ensure ingredients are thoroughly incorporated. MOLDING: Fill and pack each hole until full. Put top plate on and push down to pack. Push embeds out just a bit, then smoosh/flatten the surface to pack them more. Carefully push them out - dry 24 hours. LOOSE BATH BOMB POWDER: Mix another batch of dry ingredients [same as embed recipe]. You don't have to add liquid; I do for fragrance and additional color, plus, I like the texture. I added 2 milliliters each of liquid color, fragrance, & polysorbate 80. Mix ingredients together. Let it dry or use it damp. PACKAGING You do not need to buy special containers for this project. If you do, the Erlenmeyer flasks are really cute and fit perfectly with the "bath potions" theme. Add bath bomb powder for bulk. Embeds and bath bomb chunks add texture and pops of color. Glittery bath salt adds sparkling flare between layers. Eco-friendly glitter adds a bit of shimmering magic and sprinkles add a personal touch that makes it special.
