The temperatures have dropped. Most of the gorgeous tropical migratory species are gone. Winter is here, but there is still lots to see outdoors! You'll notice the Carolina Chickadee energetically feeding at your sunflower seeds this winter, but did you know around half of its diet during this time of year is insects? You've probably seen squirrels and birds storing seeds and nuts in preparation for winter. What effects does this have to our ecosystem? What are snakes, frogs, and other wildlife doing this time of year in SC?
