Purple Rain, a band in Goa touches 40 years... and this is how it celebrated (incl cover versions)

‘Purple Rain’ , a prominent band from Goa (covers, original music and in English, Konkani, Portuguese) turned 40 this month. It was founded by Acácio Tavares in 1985. Acácio was also connected with earlier bands -- “Moody Blues” in 1971, ‘Planets’ ‘Chain Reactions, ‘Diffusions’ and ‘Modulators’. Some music here are COVERS of popular songs. In 1985, Acácio set up 'Purple Rain' with fellow musicians from the village of Ribandar, on the outskirts of Panjim. The villagers (and many more) showed up for the celebrations on the weekend. The band has played all over Goa, in other parts of urban India, and also performed at Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Dubai, etc. Their own original song Bala Bala Music also features here.
