Decoding China's Economy: Present and Future | World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2025

China's largest economic stimulus package since 2008 has renewed attention on its economic performance and potential. In the longer term, the policy to mobilize "new quality productive forces" over a set of targeted "future industries" indicates a reliance on technology-driven industrial policy for future growth. How can China strike a balance between short-term fiscal stimulus and cohesive forward-looking industrial policy as it aims to deliver on its growth targets? This session was developed in collaboration with China Global Television Network (CGTN).
