The Lagos - Calabar Coastal highway will run from Ahmadu Bello way in Victoria Island Lagos all the way to Calabar in cross-rivers state. The 700km highway way will connect different states across the coastal areas of the country from Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa-Ibom and Cross rivers with two spurs. The first spur connecting Badagry to Sokoto while the second spur will connect Enugu to Abakaliki to Ogoja then to the border of Cameroon. The project will be constructed in different phases and sections, presently Phase 1 section 1 is under construction which runs from the junction of Ahmadu Bello way with Adetokunbo Ademola in Victoria Island to Eleko Junction in Lagos which is 47.47kms. Recently the Honorable Minister of works Sen. Dave Umahi said that by May 25 2025 about 30km from phase 1 will be commission which is 20km from Ahmadu Bello way in Victoria Island and 10km from the Eleko Junction towards Ahmadu Bello way in Victoria Island. Join me in this exclusive update as we explore the impressive progress on Section 1 of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. In this video, we take a comprehensive look at the 30km stretch that’s now completed—from Eleko to Victoria Island, with stunning aerial views and on-ground coverage showing the transformation of communities and landscapes along the route. From Okun-Ajah to New Road, and through Jakande, Marwa, Oniru and Victoria Island, I take you through newly paved segments, active construction zones, and Nigeria’s first coastal flyover in the making. I will also talk about what’s happening next in Sections 2 (From Eleko to the boundary communities between Lagos and Ogun State), Section 3A (Akamkpa, Cross River) and Section 3B (Nsit Atai, Akwa Ibom). What’s Inside: • Drone footage of the 6–7km paved stretch from Eleko • Insights into future phases of the highway project • Paved and Unpaved Section at Okun-Ajah • End Point of the Paved Section from Victoria Island • Bike ride from Okun-Ajah to New Road to Oniru • Flyover construction progress at New Road • Night time views of the Highway at Victoria Island & Oniru This is more than just a road—it's a game-changer for Nigeria’s infrastructure and coastal connectivity.
