By no means the first time I have run this engine. This video is about the 7th run I have done with it. I have used several fuels, and plugs. Omega 5% and 5% with added castor. OS #8, Rossi, and K&B 7311. Nothing has really changed the way this engine behaves other than run time. I have done a total of about 10 short runs of 25 minutes total with this engine. It still does not perform as I would expect. It still does not idle lower than 5000 RPM without dying. Despite all of the carb adjustments I make, it still runs poorly and quickly loses top RPM as the engine heats up. The MECOA site mentions that up to 90 minutes might be required to achieve peak performance and good idle. Well NINETY minutes of running to achieve a proper idle is totally ridiculous and unacceptable in my experience. Even with Enya cast iron piston/steel sleeve engines I have been able to tune to a good transition and low idle long before the engine was completely broken in. This could just be a poor sample of these engines, but thus far I am NOT impressed. I did not have this same experience with my HP 49 VT engine and that was the bench mark I was using in this evaluation. Upon another disassembly I noticed that the screws on the metal strap that retain the pinion gear shaft in the lower crankcase had worked loose. This resulted in very dark oil inside the engine from excessive wear on the metal parts. When these screws are fully tightened, they bind the shaft and do not allow it to turn freely. A very poor design. To contact me via email please watch: • How to Contact Me To understand more about my channel: • I'm a dick (A humorous explanation of my c...
