This song was written by Hoagy Carmichael in 1927 and is a song about "a song about love". It was originally titled Star Dust but has since been condensed to one word. The lyrics were added a couple of years later in 1929, by Mitchell Parish. To date, this song has been recorded over 1500 times making it one of the most recorded songs in the twentieth century. For those interested, the sax is a Keilwerth SX90II soprano with an Otto Link 7* mouthpiece and an old La Voz reed I had laying around . The recording setup is a Rode NT2-A mic, Focusrite Saffire PRO 24 DSP audio interface, and Macbook Pro running Studio One (ver. 2.6) software by PreSonus. The backing track is one of Hal Leonard's.
