Liptovský Hrad (Liptov Castle) with its panoramic views, and the exhibition of 150 years of tourism in Slovakia offer unique experiences. The hike from the thermal lake in Kalameny to Liptovský hrad Castle is undemanding and can be completed within a few hours. The castle once guarded trade routes towards Orava and served as the seat of the Liptov County for some time. Once significant and unique for its western wall, the now-ruined structure and national cultural monument provides not only historical artifacts but also splendid views in all directions.  The Slovak Museum of Nature Protection and Speleology (SMOPAJ) in Liptovský Mikuláš recently opened the exhibition "Following the Tourist Trail - 150 Years of Tourist Signage in Slovakia," which piqued our curiosity as experienced hikers. It can be visited even one day after a shorter hike, for instance, to the mentioned Liptovský Castle. The exhibition's content, especially the evolution of trail marking, as well as other exhibits and texts, was particularly captivating.
