Up next is the Remington Model 16 made from 1915 to 1928.....this one is a 1922 manufacture. Reason you may have never heard of it is it’s proprietary cartridge, the .22 Remington Automatic, which is the only gun ever made to chamber that round. Created primarily to avoid usage of any .22 Long Rifle that was not smokeless which could gum up the semi auto action, the .22 Remington Automatic ammo was exclusively smokeless and not backwards (or forwards) compatible.....kind of like the .22 Winchester Automatic for the 1903......hmmmmmm.
