Top infectious disease expert Zhang Wenhong张文宏 receives domestic vaccine, "I feel good"

Dr. Zhang Wenhong张文宏, the top expert of Shanghai’s coronavirus treatment and prevention team received his first COVID-19 vaccine developed by China National Biotec Group (CNBG) recently. The shot, which Dr. Zhang received in the left arm is a domestically produced inactivated vaccine that shows 79.34 percent efficacy against COVID-19. Here're how to get yourself vaccinated in China: Step one: Use your phone to scan the QR code Step two: Sign an informed consent Step three: Take a vaccine out of the refrigerator and log its code Step four: Get vaccinated Step five: Wait for 30 minutes in the observation room (In case of any adverse reaction) Vaccinations began last Friday for key groups across China using the country's first approved COVID-19 vaccine. The priority groups include those engaged in inspection and quarantine of imported cold-chain products, overseas returnees, medical workers, social workers, customs officers, and people working in other exposed sectors, such as at ports and on public transport. Dr. Zhang also confirmed and assured that a vaccine with an efficacy at 60-70% is enough for building a protective barrier against the virus. There may be possible side effects such as allergies and partial pain, but they are not unique to this inactivated vaccine. The CNBG vaccine requires two doses. The second shot is taken 2 to 4 weeks after accepting the first dose.
