MTA Q103 LTD Bus Ride via 21st Street: 2023 Nova Bus LFS 9267 from Astoria to Hunters Point

Taken on 7/26/25. Footage of 2023 Nova Bus LFS 9267 operating on the Q103 from Astoria to Hunters Point via 30th Avenue, 21st Street, and Jackson Avenue. With the exception of the final block of its route, the Q103 did not serve Vernon Boulevard or any stops. The entire route the bus took up to the Pulaski Bridge Approach (11th Street) will be the new Queens route on the extended B62. Starting on August 31st, the B62 will diverted from Queens Plaza and most of its Jackson Avenue route in order to run up 21st Street & across 30th Avenue to/from the Astoria Projects. The Q103 route was diverted onto 21st Street due to the NYCDOT Summer Streets event. The 2025 event runs for five Saturdays and covering locations in all five boroughs. From about 6 AM to 3 PM each day, various streets are completely closed off to all vehicular traffic. In turn those streets are available for pedestrians and cyclists with various activities in certain locations including street performances and giveaways. In Queens, Vernon Boulevard was closed between 30th Road & 44th Drive. For the next weeks, there will be various street closures in Manhattan. Buses largely skipped almost all the local stops except for one along the trunk of the 21st Street Corridor (between 30th Ave and the 21st Street-Queensbridge station). Since the SB Q69 and Q100 both had scheduled detours off 21st Street for some reason, this Q103 seemed to be picking up the bulk of the riders along 21st Street. The portion on 21st Street between 40th Avenue and 44th Drive is currently considered part of its detour route, however will become part of its regular route on August 31st, 2025. This along with the B62 changes are part of Phase 2 of the Queens Bus Redesign.
