ACCF Center for Policy Research and ClearPath Foundation Panel Discussion: Direction of Energy Policy in the 115th Congress The American Council for Capital Formation Center for Policy Research and the ClearPath Foundation hosted a May 17th forum “Direction of Energy Policy in the 115th Congress.” The distinguished panel included Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, Jay Faison, Founder and CEO ClearPath Foundation and Meera Kohler President, Alaska Village Electric Cooperative. With a new administration in the White House, expectations on where U.S. energy and environmental policy are headed have been upended. While there is a renewed interest in developing the nation’s reserves of traditional fossil fuels, there is also a wide variety of other energy resources that deserve equal attention in any discussion about setting national policies to deliver affordable and abundant energy for American families and businesses. This includes hydroelectric power, advanced nuclear energy, energy savings through efficiency, and the development of future energy technologies through U.S.-led innovation.
