Today me and mum set off from the Black Country Museum, now that dad has gone to work we don't have to worry about the car, so today we're doing a mega cruise of about 23 miles across many canals. Firstly we're head along the winding route of the old Birmingham main line, which will take us along a very urban path that has lots of interesting tales to tale, along a lot of the route we'll be sheltered by the m5 motorway, which covers the entire canal, eventually we will come to the end of the old main line and will have to descend through 3 locks to get back onto the new mainline canal, which is much more straight, it wont take us long to reach the centre of Birmingham now and when we do we'll head down the Worcester and birmingham canal, passing Gas Street Basin on our way to Kings Norton junction which will then take us on to the Stratford canal! where eventually we will reach Dickens Heath and out of Birmingham mooring up after many hours of cruising.
