Star Fox Zero | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary

Today we take a look at a title that is part of an awesome series. My first experience with Starfox was Lylat Wars for the Nintendo 64. It was called Starfox 64 in America, but in Europe it had a different name. I immediately fell in love with the crew led by Fox McCloud and played the game over and over. I was very young back then, so I did not even realize that there were multiple paths and endings. It was years later that I discovered this and so this game blew my mind twice. There have been multiple sequels throughout the years and from what I heard Starfox Zero was amongst the best. And it was an awesome experience to jump in my R-Wing again and take on bad guys. The gameplay in Starfox is amongst the best when it comes to on-rails action games. Though you are flying through a linear path, you have full control over your vehicle in going up, down, left, right or speeding up and slowing down. Because of that it always makes you feel like you are in control even though you are guided down a pre determined path. And there of course are also the sections where you actually do have full 360 degrees of control over your ship and can participate in awesome dogfights and boss battles. The levels are great with plenty of branching paths and secrets to find. There are many items to collect and even replayable levels with different vehicles. The only problem that I ran into is that the voice dialogue cannot be played through your monitor's speakers and can only be heard through the Wii U's microphone on the controller. In order to still get the dialogue I had to play in a very weird position to where I had an external microphone plugged in while keeping the Wii U pad close to it. I actually think that the end result is pretty decent and that all the voices can be heard clearly.
