Unboxing WWII German Helmets – M35, M40, M42, SS, Luftwaffe, and More! Real or Fake?

📦 Unboxing WWII German Helmets – M35, M40, M42, SS, Luftwaffe & More! Real or Fake? 🪖 Welcome to Military Antiques Toronto, where we uncover history, one artifact at a time! Today, we’re unboxing a new shipment of WWII German helmets to examine whether they’re the real deal or unfortunate reproductions. 💀 These helmets include models like the M35, M40, and M42 Stahlhelm, featuring various finishes, decals, and liners. Unfortunately, not all are as authentic as they seem. Join me as we break down the details, inspect each helmet, and discuss how to spot fake restorations so you don’t get caught out! 🔔 Make sure to LIKE 👍, COMMENT 💬, and SUBSCRIBE 🔥 for more military history and collectibles content! 📍 Video Chapters 0:00 – Introduction & Unboxing Begins 🏠 A new batch of WWII German helmets has arrived! Let’s open the box and see what’s inside. I’ve removed the sender’s details for privacy, but let’s take a closer look at these pieces of history. 0:43 – First Helmet: M42 Stahlhelm – Original or Repainted? 🎨 Right off the bat, we’ve got an M42 German helmet, but something seems off. While it’s a genuine shell, someone has repainted it, and the liner is clearly a reproduction. The chin strap, however, might be original! 2:10 – SE64 Helmet – Another Altered Find 🔍 Next up, an SE64 helmet with an added liner that doesn’t belong. The helmet itself is real, but someone took artistic liberties trying to "improve" its value. Always check for inconsistencies! 3:05 – Fake Battlefield Finish – Identifying Altered Paint 🚨 This helmet has a consistent yet artificial distressing technique. The person who altered these clearly used the same fake aging method across multiple helmets. This is a common way fakers try to pass off modified helmets as battlefield-used relics. 4:00 – Quist Helmet – Real Shell, Fake Story 🏗️ A Quist model helmet enters the mix, but again, the liner and paint don’t match up with true period finishes. This is a classic example of a helmet that started out real but has been altered in a way that hurts its authenticity. 5:15 – The Best Find – Croatian SS Helmet (But Is It Real?) ☠️ I really wanted this Croatian SS helmet to be genuine, but unfortunately, it’s not. From the decals to the finish, it doesn’t check out. It’s a shame, because an authentic one would be incredibly valuable! 6:30 – Advice on Buying WWII Helmets – Avoid Getting Ripped Off! 💰 If you’re buying WWII helmets, always purchase from a reputable dealer with a return policy. Many sellers unknowingly or intentionally push fake or restored helmets as originals, and if you’re not careful, you could overpay for something that isn’t historically accurate. 7:00 – Final Thoughts & Where to Buy Authentic Helmets ✅ All the helmets in this shipment were real shells, but sadly, every single one had been modified in some way. They’ll still be sold honestly as what they are – modified helmets – but they won’t be passed off as untouched originals. Always do your research and buy smart! 🛒 Check Out Our Store for Authentic WWII Helmets & Military Antiques! 📌 Military Antiques Toronto Website https://militaryantiquestoronto.com/ 📌 Follow Us on Facebook   / militaryantiquesto   ⚠️ How to Spot Fake WWII German Helmets If you’re collecting WWII military antiques, here are some key tips to avoid getting scammed: 🟢 Check the liner and chin strap – Many fakes have incorrect post-war liners. 🟢 Inspect the paint and decals – Aged paint and decals should match the helmet's wear. 🟢 Look for consistent patina – Authentic helmets have wear patterns that match decades of aging. 🟢 Buy from reputable sellers – If a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is. The helmets in this video include several iconic WWII German Stahlhelm models, each with a unique history. The M35, M40, and M42 were the primary helmets used by the Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe, and SS throughout the war. M35 Stahlhelm – The first mass-produced helmet of the war, featuring high-quality materials and a smooth finish. M40 Stahlhelm – A wartime adaptation of the M35, featuring stamped air vents and rougher paint due to material shortages. M42 Stahlhelm – The final and most simplified version, produced with a flared edge to speed up production. Unfortunately, many of the helmets in this shipment have been tampered with, making it difficult to determine their original state. The liners have been replaced, the paint has been artificially aged, and fake decals have been applied to increase their perceived value. One of the biggest disappointments was the Croatian SS helmet, which, if real, would be extremely rare and valuable. However, upon close inspection, it became clear that the paint and markings weren’t correct.
