Mission 1 Operation Pacific Dagger: Over the past months, tensions in the Western Pacific have continued to rise, particularly around the Taiwan Strait. Military activity in the region has increased significantly, accompanied by intensified reconnaissance operations and persistent cyber activity targeting U.S. infrastructure. Three days ago, a large-scale cyberattack disrupted U.S. military communication networks, disabling significant portions of satellite-based transmission systems. While the origin of the attack has not been conclusively confirmed, multiple indicators suggest Chinese involvement. As a result, intelligence flow and situational awareness across the theater remain severely degraded. Earlier today, an emergency radio station on Guam received a heavily distorted transmission indicating the approach of a large naval force from the northwest. Due to ongoing communication outages and a recent typhoon over the Marianas, reconnaissance flights were delayed and only resumed shortly before the contact was confirmed. Approximately forty minutes ago, AWACS Overlord established radar contact with a group of at least nine vessels located roughly 400 nautical miles northwest of Guam. The formation is assessed to be a Chinese carrier strike group. Its exact intent remains unknown; however, hostile action is considered likely. In response, Andersen Air Force Base has been placed on its second-highest alert level. Quick Reaction Flights ENFIELD 1 and DODGE 2 are preparing to scramble, followed by DODGE 1 and VIPER 1 to establish a BARCAP in anticipation of potential hostile air activity. At the same time, Carrier Strike Group 5, centered around USS George Washington, currently operating east of Guam, is launching its alert section. The carrier-based Hornet flights FORD 1 and DEVIL 1 are tasked with reinforcing the air defense posture and supporting ongoing combat air patrol operations.
