Beyond its cozy cottages and quiet streets, this royal town also holds fascinating historic landmarks. Take a peaceful walk through Royal Wootton Bassett, a historic market town in Wiltshire, UK. Along the way, you’ll pass the elegant Church of St Bartholomew and All Saints, whose medieval roots date back to the 13th century and whose Perpendicular Gothic structure was beautifully restored in the late 19th century by G. E. Street. Just down the High Street, you’ll find the striking 17th-century Town Hall, now home to the local museum, once supported on stone columns with a ‘blind house’ below and a council chamber above.
