Manasa, a dental College student shot dead allegedly by youth at Kothamangalam

In a shocking incident, Manasa, a native of Kannur aged 24 was shot dead by her friend Ragin. He killed himself after making sure that she was dead. The incident happened near Indira Gandhi college at Nellikuzhi. Manasa was a house surgeon at the Indira Gandhi Dental college. Ragin came to Naarath where she stayed planning to kill her. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to Kothamangalam Baselious Hospital. However, the reason behind the murder is unknown. The incident took place around 1 in the afternoon on Friday. As Manasa was having lunch with her friends, Ragin stepped in. He forcefully took her to the next room and fired at her. When people entered the room, Manasa was alive. Though she was rushed to hospital, the doctors could not save her life. Old rivalry is suspected to be reason behind the alleged murder. The police are examining Manasa’s phone as part of the investigation into the reason for the alleged murder. She had two mobile phones. According to police, she was fired at close range behind her ears. Eyewitnesses state that she did not expect Ragin at that time. Ragin reached the place planning to kill Manasa, added the eyewitnesses. The Ernakulam rural police informed that the investigation had started. Her friends would be questioned soon.
