On today’s walk around Ubud I meet a grab driver ho speaks eight languages. He explains to me how different castes in Bali are required to speak to others in a higher or lower caste through variations of the local language. I didn't realize what I'd done until a kilomtre away in Central Ubud causing me to run as fast as I could back to make sure my passports, money, and cards were still there. I also take a rare western breakfast as I developed a pang for an omelette, fried tomatoes, bacon, sausages and toast. I meet a woman who after having an accident on a scooter some years ago is now too afraid to ride on the streets of bali. She also tells us of her small warung and why she’s in Ubud Central today.
