On February 10, 2015 Adi Yeshaya (Arranging Courses Program Director) re-assembled the Adi Yeshaya Big Band for an exclusive Live at Five engagement at McNally Smith. The beloved all-star ensemble was prolific in the early '90s Twin Cities scene, “deliver[ing] a fresh new book of instrumental and vocal jazz” –Leigh Kamman, Minnesota Public Radio. Yeshaya, also an accomplished pianist, crafted a special set of original arrangements for Live at Five and lead his 12-piece “little” big band — which features members of the Minnesota Sinfonia and Jazz MN Orchestra — through unique takes on classic jazz standards. In addition to his faculty position at McNally Smith, Yeshaya arranges music for NBC's The Voice and has worked with some of the biggest names in music, including Prince, Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin. The Live at Five concert series showcases the diversity and musicianship of McNally Smith College of Music faculty, backed by some of the best musicians in the Twin Cities. All Live at Five concerts are FREE and open to the public. For more information, visit: http://www.mcnallysmith.edu/live-at-five SELECTIONS: "Straight No Chaser" / T. Monk "All Of Me" / G. Marks / S.
