This face self-massage will help you relieve tension from your face while helping you relax into your whole body. In Dance Movement Therapy, self-touch is used to foster a deeper sense of self-connection and body awareness, while helping you ground yourself into the present moment. A lot of the stress and anxiety we experience on a daily basis shows up as muscle tension in our bodies. You can do this exercise when you are experiencing jaw tension, headaches, anxiety, and stress. It may also be helpful with some of the physical symptoms of trauma such as dissociation and numbness.
