The students of St. Mary’s Convent Inter College brilliantly brought alive the soul of “The Quest” through a vibrant blend of music, dance, and drama. The 159th Annual Concert, held on the resplendent evening of 1st November 2025, became a spectacular celebration of art, intellect, imagination, and inspiration, all woven into the stirring theme, “The Quest.” The magnificent evening was graced by the presence of His Lordship, Rev. Bishop Louis Mascarenhas, Bishop of the Diocese of Allahabad, as the President of the event. The Chief Guest, Ms. Saumya Agrawal, IAS, Divisional Commissioner, honoured the occasion with her esteemed presence. Distinguished guests further adorned the programme — Hon’ble Mr. Mudit Chandra, IRPS, HR Head, North Central Railways, and Rev. Sr. Shweta CJ, Provincial Superior, Congregation of Jesus, Allahabad Province — whose presence added dignity to the celebration. It was a matter of immense pride for the SMC family to welcome its illustrious alumnae: Ms. Madalsa Srivastava, Assistant Director Finance (Audit), Government of Uttar Pradesh, and Ms. Urja Raheja, Indian Economic Services, AIR 2, who attended the event as special guests. The dignitaries received a warm and graceful welcome from the Manager, Rev. Sr. Sumita CJ, the Principal, Rev. Sr. Lissy CJ, and the Vice Principal, Rev. Sr. Namita CJ. The concert began with a divine, soul-stirring ballet performed by the talented students of Class 9, offering a heartfelt tribute to Prayagraj — the city of heritage, confluence, and timeless culture — and to Mother Mary Ward’s inspiring vision of courage, compassion, and education. A serene classical dance followed, casting a gentle, artistic calm across the gathering. The evening unfolded with a series of captivating performancessuch as “Hugs of Gratitude”, “On the Wings of Freedom”, “Whispering Streets” and “Secret of the Mirror,” All the events offered deep moral reflection and illuminated the timeless values that guide hearts, shape minds, and elevate the human spirit. The Rhythm Raiders, SMC’s iconic musical band, electrified the stage with their energetic presentation, while “Cosmic Quest” applauded India’s scientific brilliance. Class 8 showcased “The Broken Compass” which touched hearts with its emotional narrative based on substance abuse and “Countdown to Truce” by Classes 9 and 10 portrayed the inspiring triumph of peace over conflict. Class 11 mesmerised the audience with “Roots to Radiance,” celebrating India’s handcrafted legacy, and Class 12 concluded the dramatic showcase with “The Covenant,” a powerful enactment of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution. The campus radiated with splendour, creativity, and joy — SMC was truly a sight to behold! The Chief Guest, Ms. Saumya Agrawal, also an alumna of SMC Lucknow, expressed her heartfelt delight and praised the dedication of the SMCians. She encouraged the girls to pursue their aspirations with determination, advising them to break their goals into smaller, achievable steps. The evening concluded with a gracious Vote of Thanks, followed by the National Anthem, bringing to a close an uplifting celebration of talent, values, and hope at St. Mary’s Convent Inter College, Prayagraj.
