Federal Center South building in Seattle faces potential sale amid cost-cutting efforts

The Federal Center South building in Georgetown is among at least four federal buildings in the Seattle area that the government has identified as a non-core asset, putting it on the chopping block. The Trump administration on Tuesday published a list of more than 440 federal properties it has identified to close or sell, including the FBI headquarters and the main Department of Justice building, after deeming them “not core to government operations." Hours later, however, the administration issued a revised list with only 320 entries — none in Washington, D.C.
