Todays episode is the second to be hosted by Garry Miley and Máire Henry WIT's Architecture Department. The program includes stories from Ian Watchorn, a WIT graduate who recently established a practice in New York called WAU. Gordon Chisholm, lecturer and researcher, delivers a presentation about the technology involved in online teaching and their experiences running a collaborative module across three different schools in three different countries. Finally, Garry shares a film produced by Aleksander Kostic, Head of Architecture Research Group, of the successful ‘Charette’ project he’s been running in WIT’s fifth year for nigh on 10 years. (Recorded: 20/11/2020) CURRENT Socials Instagram: / current_ire. . Twitter: / current_ireland You can tune into the live recording of these shows on Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 1-2pm (Irish time) via zoom: https://ucd-ie.zoom.us/j/85946920172p... Current is a project originating in UCD and involving architecture schools across Ireland. This regular ‘zoomcast’ will present features on what the faculty, staff and students are up to – in projects, in practice and in research – and on what is current. We will ask invited guests to share their enthusiasms – favorite books, pictures, places visited – and will explore themes and issues relevant to contemporary architecture. As long as we cannot all be in the same place at the same time, Current is intended to provide ‘a shared stream of thought’ through which the culture of architectural education can be sustained. Between us, the schools will produce a number of programs each week, typically running from 1-2pm. The series will initially run till mid-December. All are welcome to join, ask questions, and become part of the conversation.
