Unsupervised | The Curious Case of Russ Brown

Unsupervised is a fantastic animated show originally released back in 2012 on FX before being canceled, eventually moving to Adult Swim for a short period in 2015. I am surprised that no other content creators on this platform have covered Unsupervised considering it has such a distinct cult following. Although FX gave up on the show after an unconvincing marketing campaign, Unsupervised deserves to be rebooted especially considering the current state of adult animation. Unsupervised proves that adult animation can still be funny without being over the top and vulgar while focusing on adolescent characters. I dropped two other videos on Unsupervised so far that have been well received by the small audience that watched them which inspired me to return with this video. Russ Brown is a popular character among the fandom and, if there is any single reason to bring the show back, it’s his character voiced by Rob Rosell who also produced the show alongside Scott Marder and David Hornsby! I could go on ad infinitum about this show, but hopefully this video suffices. For now, let’s keep our fingers crossed for a reboot; if not, the current crop of adult animation should be heavily inspired by this down-to-earth slice of life comedy. Unsupervised only got to release 13 episodes and they noticeably increase in quality as the season progresses. Unsupervised is not streaming except if you are willing to purchase it out-right currently on Amazon Prime or Apple TV. However, I did come across the pilot here on YouTube.
