In this video you will learn how to calculate the arc length of a sector with no calculator. You can do this by dividing the angle inside the sector by 360, and then multiply the answer by the diameter and Pi. So in example 1 you have a sector with an angle of 20 degrees and a radius of 10cm and you need to calculate the arc length of the sector. First of all write the angle over 360 and simplify the fraction so 20 over 360 simplifies to 1 over 18. Next double the radius to give 20, and multiply 20 by 1/18 to give give 20/18 which simplifies to 10/9. Finally multiply 10/9 by Pi to give a final answer of 10/9Pi. In example 2 the sector has a radius of 6cm and an inside angle of 80. First of all write the angle as a fraction of 360, so 80/360 simplifies to 2/9. Multiply this by 12 to give 24/9 which simplifies to 8/3. Multiply this by Pi to give 8/3Pi.
